Weaving: Fabric with gold thread

This piece was born out of the need to find a materiality that would allow me to create a space for meditation and reflection on the relationship between the body and the mind, between manual action and the impulse to create. My intention is to alter the order, to disorder the stitches. I take away from the viewer the notion that the act of sewing is automatic and repetitive. I unsettle them with something that, as a whole, can no longer be easily defined.
